(December 21, 2012) release of Mextram 504.11.0

Release of Mextram 504.11.0 as a CMC standard model. This version of Mextram has been accepted by CMC members at the 2012 Q4 meeting of the Compact Model Council as the new standard release of the Mextram model.

(December 7, 2012 ) Beta release Mextram 504.11

The alpha phase of Mextram 504.11 has been closed. The proposed release is now available as a Mextram 504.11-beta release.

Beta releases of Mextram are accessible for those members of the Compact Model Council that have designated Mextram for explicit support. These CMC members can acquire a password providing access to pre-releases of Mextram by means of the Acquire Password link in the menu on the left hand side of this page.


(November 17, 2012 ) Update Alpha release Mextram 504.11

The Mextram 504.11 alpha release has been refined.

Details: operating point information for the critical current for onset of quasi saturation, in reverse mode of operation, has been addressed. The Verilog-A implementation, as affected by the upgrade of Mextram to level 504.11, has been improved for computational efficiency.


(October 24, 2012 ) Alpha release Mextram 504.11

Mextram 504.11 features an extended range of the EXMOD parameter, implementing enhanced control of the asymptotic high current and diffusion charge behavior in the outermost parasitic base-collector branch. Tests addressing the new features have been added to the test suite.

The Mextram 504.11 release includes refinements of Mextram 504.9- and Mextram 504.10- specific parts of the CMC QA test suite: these are tests that involve the ICSS (504.9) and the EXSUB (504.10) parameter. These refinements aim to reduce sensitivity of the tests to implementation and simulator specific convergence aids. Test specifications have been refined and reference data has been updated accordingly.

(October 11, 2012 ) zip-Distributions Added

In addition to Unix style filename.tar.gz archives, dos-style filename.zip archives have been added to our model releases. Apart from the formats, these distributions differ in that the tar.gz distributions may contain symbolic links -- outlining the logical structure of the file distributions -- whereas in the zip-archives these links have been replaced by copies of their targets. This replacement is deliberate, and serves to avoid issues on systems that do not support links.

(September 26, 2012 ) Password Retrieval Self-Service Added

A link "Acquire Password" has been added to the menu at the left hand side of this website. By means of this link those members of the Compact Model Council that explicitly support Mextram can request for a password to be automatically sent to them. Such passwords provide access to the restricted releases of Mextram. A list of those members that can make use of this service is compiled by the Compact Model Council .

(March 20, 2012 ) Website Support for Model Levels

The structure of this website and the model version control engine behind it has been upgraded such as to introduce support for multiple levels of Mextram. Timestamps on this website may have been updated as a result of testing of the engines. For Mextram we currently support level 504.

(February, 2012 ) Mextram 504.10.1 released as new standard version.

Mextram 504.10.1 is available as TechAmerica Compact Model Council standard release of Mextram.

Our May 2011 vacancy for a PhD is now closed; we are pleased to make public here our team has been strengthened by an enthousiastic new member.

(May, 2011 ) Vacancy for PhD candidate (CLOSED)

We currently have a vacancy for a PhD candidate. Field of research will be advanced physics-based bipolar device modeling and contribution to the continuous development of the Mextram model.

Focus will be on state-of-the art industrial bipolar transistor technologies for upcoming mm-wave applications. In this project we shall closely cooperate with NXP-Research (Eindhoven, The Netherlands).

Candidates must have an MSc degree in physics, mathematics or electrical engineering and apparent affinity with semiconductor device physics. Good communication skills in English are essential.

(June 16, 2009) Release of Mextram 504.8

For further information, please refer to the Release Information page.

(March, 26/27, 2009) Presentation of Mextram 504.8_alpha at the Los Angeles CMC meeting. It was decided that the proposed version of Mextram 504.8 will be officially released after additional beta testing by Delft University and cooperating CMC members.

A beta test version of Mextram 504.8 is available for download from the Beta releases page.

(December 2008) Alpha release of Mextram 504.8, which adds Zener tunneling current in the emitter-base junction:
